Four Businesses Awarded Small Business Advantage Grants, Vance Says

HARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance (R-Cumberland/York) today announced four businesses in the 31st Senatorial District recently were awarded a total of $26,850 under the Small Business Advantage Grant Program.

"Many small businesses are focused on remaining profitable," Vance said. "This grant program allows them to integrate environmentally friendly practices into their businesses without having to shoulder the entire financial burden. I encourage more small businesses to take advantage of this opportunity."

PALE Inc. of Lemoyne , Hampden Cleaners in Hampden Township and Rockville Enterprises LLC of Cumberland County each received a $7,500 grant. PALE will use the money to replace a pants legger press and boiler. Hampden Cleaners will purchase and install energy saving units. Rockville Enterprises will purchase and install high efficiency front load washers to conserve energy. Finally, Two Ghost Express of Carlisle received a $4,350 grant to purchase and install an auxiliary power unit for long-haul trailers to eliminate idling during layovers.

The Small Business Advantage Grant Program gives a 50 percent matching grant of up to $7,500 to encourage the implementation of equipment or processes to reduce energy consumption and pollution prevention while helping to increase profitability for small businesses.

The program is open to small business owners whose business or facility is located in Pennsylvania. Eligible applicants also must be for-profit business enterprises that are corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, sole proprietorships or other legal entities that have no more than 100 employees and are a separate legal business entity at the time the application is submitted.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
