Vance Announces HOME Program Grant Awarded to East Pennsboro

HARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance (R-Cumberland/York) today announced a $318,000 HOME Program grant has been awarded to East Pennsboro Township.

"Homeownership is part of the American dream," Vance said. "This program helps those on limited incomes reach that milestone. I commend East Pennsboro Township for taking advantage of this opportunity."

The grant will be used to support the first-time home buyer program in the township.

The HOME Program provides federal funds to local governments to expand the supply of decent and affordable housing for low- and very-low income Pennsylvanians. Eligible projects include new construction, home rehabilitation, acquisition of rental or sales housing and rental assistance for low- and moderate-income families. The promotion of affordable homeownership creates economic prosperity for communities and families and act as a generator of economic growth.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
