Vance Takes Tour of Warrell Corporation in Latest Cable Show

HARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance's (R-Cumberland/York) August edition of the Vance Report features a tour of The Warrell Corporation, which manufactures Pennsylvania Dutch Candies and other confectionary treats.

"For 40 years the Warrell family has been satisfying people's sweet tooth," Vance said. "The tour of the plant in Camp Hill on the Vance Report provides an inside look at how candy is made. It is an interesting process."

Participating in the tour are Lincoln Warrell, company chairman; Patrick Huffman, company president; and Rich Warrell, marketing manager.

Lincoln Warrell, his brother and his father bought Pennsylvania Dutch Candies of Mt. Holly Springs in 1965. Since that time the company acquired Katherine Beecher Candies and Melster Candies. In May 2000, the company moved production of the Pennsylvania Dutch Candies and Katherine Beecher Candies to a vacant former frozen fish facility in Camp Hill.

The show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on Channel 20 with no set time schedule.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
