FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Camp Hill Cleaners Awarded Small Business Advantage Grant, Vance SaysHARRISBURG – Sen. Patricia Vance (R-Cumberland/York) today announced Dale I. Kaplan Inc., which does business as Kaplan's Careful Cleaners, recently was awarded a $7,500 grant under the Small Business Advantage Grant Program. "Many small businesses walk a fine line in order to stay profitable," Vance said. "This makes it difficult to incorporate environmentally friendly yet expensive equipment. Through this grant program, small businesses are encouraged to make these kinds of investments that not only benefit the environment but also the business." Kaplan's Careful Cleaners will use the grant to purchase and install upgraded dry-cleaning equipment to reduce perchloroethylene use and hazardous waste generation. The Small Business Advantage Grant Program gives a 50 percent matching grant of up to $7,500 to encourage the implementation of equipment or processes to reduce energy consumption and pollution prevention while helping to increase profitability for small businesses. The program is open to small business owners whose business or facility is located in Pennsylvania. Eligible applicants also must be for-profit business enterprises that are corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, sole proprietorships or other legal entities that have no more than 100 employees and are a separate legal business entity at the time the application is submitted. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
