FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October Vance Show Focuses on Beekeeping, Unique FarmHARRISBURG – Sen. Pat Vance's (R-Cumberland/York) October edition of the Vance Report features segments on beekeeping and a unique farm in Lewisberry. In the first portion of the program, Vance interviews Kathy Ammerman, who owns Fieldstone Crossing. The farm is home to a variety of animals such as llamas, donkeys, alpacas, goats, lambs and peacocks. Tom Jones known as "The Happy Beekeeper" demonstrates in the second segment the complexities of being a beekeeper. Jones lives in Lower Frankford Township. "Kathy through Fieldstone Crossing provides a wonderful service to the community by visiting nursing homes and exposing foster children to animals," Vance said. "Tom's extensive knowledge of beekeeping is very evident. I was surprised to learn that a queen bee only is used for a year in a hive before a new queen is chosen." Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on Channel 20 with no set time schedule. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
