FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE State Grange Fair Awarded Grant, Vance SaysHARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania State Grange– Junior Grange Department in Lemoyne recently was awarded a $2,500 Agriculture and Rural Youth Grant for the Pennsylvania Junior Grange Camp, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "This important camp provides instruction, recreation, fellowship, leadership and builds self-esteem," Vance said. "The grange helps mold America's leaders and creates lifelong friendships. Through service, members learn the importance of helping others." The Agriculture and Rural Youth Grant Program is a competitive program that provides grant to projects that increase the knowledge and awareness of agricultural and rural issues among the youth in Pennsylvania. The program offers eligible organizations the opportunity to apply for a matching grant up to $10,000 and a direct grant up to $2,500. Organizations comprised of persons 18 years of age or younger and are organized and recognized within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to promote development of agriculture, rural community leadership, vocational training or peer fellowship are considered eligible applicants. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
