FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance to Chair Hearing on Centralization of Assessments of SeniorsWHAT: Sen. Patricia Vance (R-Cumberland/York), chairman of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee, has scheduled a hearing on the Department of Aging's plans to centralize the assessment of senior citizens needing long term living services. This assessment is a prerequisite to individuals receiving nursing home services, home and community-based services and personal care services. The assessments have been done by the Area Agencies on Aging for the past 20 years. WHO: Sen. Patricia Vance and members of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee. Those scheduled to testify include Secretary of Aging Nora Dowd Eisenhower; M. Crystal Lowe, executive director of the Pennsylvania Association of Area Agencies on Aging; Bracken Burns, Washington County Commissioner; and Kristin Woellemer, executive director of the Pennsylvania Association of County Human Service Administrators.
