FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Urges Persian Gulf Conflict Veterans to Apply for BenefitHARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Persian Gulf Conflict veterans are eligible for up to a $525 benefit under the Persian Gulf Veterans Benefit Program, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "Persian Gulf Conflict veterans played a key role in driving Iraqi forces from Kuwait," Vance said. "This benefit is a token of thanks from the residents of Pennsylvania to their friends and neighbors for their efforts. I would encourage all eligible veterans to apply by the deadline of August 2015." The Persian Gulf Veterans Benefit Program was approved by Pennsylvania voters through referendum. It allows eligible veterans or beneficiaries to receive a one-time benefit of $75 for each month of active service, up to $525. Survivors of veterans who died as a result of service-connected wounds, diseases or injuries may be eligible for an additional $5,000. To qualify, the service member must meet the following criteria:
Applications can be downloaded from the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Web site at www.persiangulfbonus.state.pa.us, by calling the Persian Gulf Veterans Benefit Program at 1-866-458-9182 or visiting Vance's district office at 3806 Market Street, Camp Hill. Completed applications should be mailed to Persian Gulf Veterans Benefit Program, P.O. Box 1109, Harrisburg, PA 17108-1109. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
