Vance to Lead Hearing on Flaws in Child Protective Services System

WHAT: Sen. Pat Vance along with members of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee will gather testimony to identify shortcomings in the child protective services system and ways to make improvements. Inadequacies in the system were highlighted after a Philadelphia child died while under the supervision of the city's Department of Human Services.

WHO: Senate Aging and Youth Committee; Estelle Richman, Secretary of Department of Public Welfare; and representatives of the National Association of Social Workers, Pennsylvania Chapter; Children's Advocacy Clinic at the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law; and Pennsylvania Children and Youth Administrators Association.
