FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Honored by NFIB as Guardian of Small BusinessHARRISBURG –Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York) was one of 41 state Senators and Representatives who were honored on Monday by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for voting in favor of legislation supporting small business 100 percent of the time during the 2007-08 legislative session. In addition, 108 of the 253 members of the General Assembly, including Vance, were named Guardians of Small Business for voting favorably on key small business issues at least 75 percent of the time during the current legislative session. The votes included legislation making health insurance more affordable for small business, reducing junk lawsuits, protecting the rights of private property owners and reducing the tax burden on small businesses and manufacturers. "As a prior recipient of this award, I understand that small businesses are a key component of the Commonwealth's economy," Vance said. "It is important that government does not stand in the way of them prospering and growing. I appreciate this recognition from the NFIB." Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
