FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Report Focuses on Central PA Youth Ballet, NutcrackerHARRISBURG – The December edition of the Vance Report gives viewers a behind the scenes look at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet School and Performing Company and its preparations for The Nutcracker. Since 1955, the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, headquartered in Carlisle, has achieved international renown as a classical ballet school and performing company for beginning to pre-professional dancers. In mid-December members of the ballet will be performing George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. "The Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet is a treasure in the community," Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York) said. "Under the leadership of Marcia Dale Weary, numerous dancers have gone on to perform in New York City and internationally. Watching the company's dancers stage The Nutcracker is a treat." The ballet company will present The Nutcracker on Dec. 13 and 14 at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg and Dec. 20 and 21 at the Hershey Theatre. For more information, contact the company at 245-1191. Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on Channel 20 with no set time schedule. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
