Two Cumberland County Businesses Awarded
Small Business Advantage Grants, Vance Says
HARRISBURG – Two Mechanicsburg businesses recently were
awarded more than $4,600 under the Small Business Advantage Grant Program, said
Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).
"Both of these businesses should be commended for working
to make their companies more environmentally friendly," Vance said. "While in
the long-run these types of business practices save money, in the short term,
especially during financially difficult times, it can be a tough decision to
make. I'm pleased the state is able to assist with cushioning the financial
outlay."
Corporate Distribution Limited Inc., a commercial printing,
fulfillment and distribution company, received a $1,986 grant to be used for
high-efficiency lighting. Silver Spring Golf Course (SSGC Inc.) was awarded
$4,500 for a wind energy system.
The Small Business Advantage Grant Program gives a 50
percent matching grant of up to $7,500 to encourage the implementation of
equipment or processes to reduce energy consumption and pollution prevention
while helping to increase profitability for small businesses.
The program is open to small business owners whose business
or facility is located in Pennsylvania. Eligible applicants also must be
for-profit business enterprises that are corporations, limited liability
companies, partnerships, sole proprietorships or other legal entities that have
no more than 100 employees and are a separate legal business entity at the time
the application is submitted.
Vance's district includes all of
Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and
Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York
County. |
