Right-to-Know Law Highlighted in Vance Report
HARRISBURG – The March edition of the Vance Report focuses on the
Commonwealth's new Right-to-Know Law and Office of Open Records, said host Pat
Vance (R-Cumberland/York).
Executive Director Terry Mutchler leads a tour of the office and explains the
law that greatly expands access to government records and puts the burden of
proof on a government agency that seeks to deny access to a record.
"I'm very pleased the law was enacted," Vance said. "I have been dismayed at
the lack of trust in state and local government and am very hopeful that we can
restore the people's confidence with this law. There are good people working in
government."
Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on
Channel 8. Comcast Cable that serves the Shippensburg area will air the program
at 4 p.m. on Thursdays on Channel 21. Comcast Cable that serves the Carlisle
area will air the show at the same time but on Channel 11. York Community Access
shows the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16.
Finally, Comcast Cable in the Greater Harrisburg area will air the program on
Channel 20 with no set time schedule.
