Recycling Coordinator Grant Awarded, Vance Says

HARRISBURG – Cumberland County recently received a $29,362 County Recycling Coordinator Grant, announced Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).

"The county's recycling coordinator's job has grown as the county opened a seven day a week recycling drop off location at the Newville Lions Community Fairgrounds earlier this year," Vance said. "This expansion of recycling opportunities gives county residents, especially those in the western portion, more chances to reduce the amount of their trash that goes into landfills. I'm pleased the state could assist with funding this position."

The grant is used to reimburse 50 percent of the county recycling coordinator's salary and expenses.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
