FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Seven Sewage Facilities Grants Awarded, Vance SaysHARRISBURG – More than $11,000 in Sewage Facilities Planning Grants recently were awarded to seven municipalities in Cumberland County, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "Through this grant program a barrier to creating and making needed updates to municipal sewage plans is reduced," Vance said. The following municipalities were awarded grants:
The state sewage regulations are outlined in the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act (Act 537). This act was formed to correct existing sewage disposal problems and prevent future problems through proper planning of all types of sewage facilities and permitting of individual or community on-lot disposable systems (OLDS), as well as uniform standards for designing OLDS. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
