FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Cumberland County Programs Receive Ten Arts Grants, Vance SaysHARRISBURG – More than $74,000 in Pennsylvania Council on the Arts grants recently were awarded to arts organizations and programs in Cumberland County, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "Arts play a key role in living a well-rounded life," Vance said. "Each of these recipients ensures arts experiences are available to the community in a wide variety of areas. I encourage residents to take advantage of these opportunities." The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts each year distributes state funds to support arts organizations and programs throughout the state in order to deliver public programs to state residents. Over the past five years, the number of grantees the Council supports has increased from about 400 to more than 600. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
