Fourteen Cumberland County Businesses to Receive Energy Efficiency Grants, Vance Says

<>HARRISBURG – More than $85,000 in Small Business Energy Efficiency Grants will soon be awarded to 14 Cumberland County businesses, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).

"Since electric rate caps expired in much of Cumberland County at the beginning of the year, small businesses, just as all other consumers, have been struggling to reduce consumption," Vance said.  "These grants will help these businesses make smart decisions and lower energy bills thus helping their small businesses survive."

The following businesses received the grants:

  • All Pro West Truck & Trailer Access – $3,200 to upgrade lighting.

  • Classic Dry Cleaners – $7,500 to upgrade point of use water heating equipment.

  • Collen Kinback Inc. – $4,626 to upgrade lighting.

  • Cumberland Tool & Die – $7,500 to upgrade lighting.

  • Duane Querry – $5,565 for auxiliary power units to reduce idling during layovers.

  • Global Supply Chain & Distribution – $7,500 to upgrade lighting.

  • Holly Tree Farm – $3,414 to upgrade lighting.

  • Keystone Fleet Service Inc. – $7,500 to upgrade lighting.

  • K.I.S. Transport LLC – $5,703 for auxiliary power units to reduce idling during layovers.

  • M&Z Carpets Inc. – $7,500 to upgrade lighting.

  • Minium & Kearns Orthodontists -- $7,500 for digital improvements.

  • Roland Builder Inc. – $3,651 for an EnergyStar-rated Canon C5030 color copier.

  • Security Savings Systems Inc. – $7,500 to upgrade lighting.

  • Terranetti's Italian Bakery – $6,935 to upgrade lighting.

  • The grant program enables Pennsylvania small businesses to acquire pieces of equipment that promote energy efficiency through a 25 percent reimbursement grant, up to a maximum of $25,000. It is open to small business owners whose for-profit business or facility has no more than 100 employees and is a separate legal business entity.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
