FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Announces Shippensburg Authority Awarded PennVEST LoanHARRISBURG – A $2.79 million Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PennVEST) loan recently was approved for Shippensburg Borough Authority, said Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). "This loan will help the authority make needed updates to its wastewater treatment plant, including filter replacement and the addition of an ultraviolet light system," Vance said. "Wastewater treatment plants throughout central Pennsylvania are working to complete upgrades in order to reduce phosphorus and nitrogen outputs to meet future requirements to clean up the Chesapeake Bay." PennVEST assists communities with financing drinking water, sewer and storm water projects in the Commonwealth. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
