FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Vance Program Spotlights Alpaca FarmHARRISBURG – The June edition of the Vance Report focuses on Bent Pine Alpaca Farm in Monroe Township, said host Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). For about nine years, owners Darwin and Doris Kell have been breeding Peruvian suri alpacas on their farm. Currently, they have 27 alpacas, including 24 suri. The other three are huacaya, which have shorter, denser fleece. "Alpacas are very docile animals that need little work and are friendly to people of all ages," Vance said. "In addition to their good demeanor, their fleece is used to create beautiful sweaters, shawls and other items." Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable subscribers can view the program on Local Video on Demand (Get Local). Finally, York Community Access airs the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
