Vance Program Spotlights Meadows Frozen Custard

HARRISBURG – The August edition of the Vance Report will focus on Meadows Frozen Custard in East Pennsboro Township, which sell frozen treats and uses the proceeds to fight pediatric cancer, said host Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).

Scott and Lora Hammaker's daughter, Kallan, died of a pediatric brain tumor in 2007. Since then they have created a nonprofit charity, Kallan's Klan, to fight pediatric cancer and support young cancer patients. The charity has hosted a number of fundraisers, but opened the Meadows to provide a base of financial support.

"The Hammakers have channeled the loss of their daughter to make a positive difference for years to come," Vance said. "Enjoying frozen custard, gelati and other cold desserts from the Meadows is an easy and delicious way to support this worthwhile organization."

Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable subscribers can view the program on Local Video on Demand (Get Local). Finally, York Community Access airs the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
