FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Market at Washingtonburg Focus of Vance ShowHARRISBURG – The September edition of the Vance Report will spotlight Market at Washingtonburg at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (AHEC) in Middlesex Township, said host Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York). This is the third year that AHEC has held the event, which celebrates the early history of Carlisle Barracks. Activities include demonstrations and programs along the Army Heritage Trail that lets visitors experience an 18th century encampment and marketplace. This annual event will take a hiatus next fall as Pennsylvania marks the 150th anniversary of the Civil War in the coming years. "As this will be the last Market at Washingtonburg for some years, I would encourage everyone to attend this free and unique event," Vance said. "Having been able to participate last year, I can attest to the fact that it allows participants to be immersed in 18th century life and is very informative." Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable subscribers can view the program on Local Video on Demand (Get Local). Finally, York Community Access airs the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16. Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County. |
