Allenberry and its Holiday Program Highlighted in Vance Show

HARRISBURG – The December edition of the Vance Report will spotlight the Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse and its annual holiday show, said host Sen. Pat Vance (R-Cumberland/York).

Purchased by the Heinze family in 1944, Charles A. B. Heinze transformed the private estate into a year-round resort and playhouse. Since 1997, the playhouse has included an original Christmas show. This year's program "Mistletoe Magic" was written by Jacqueline Heinze, a member of the family.

"The Allenberry's tranquil and relaxing atmosphere is the perfect getaway close to home," Vance said. "The paring of its Christmas show with its holiday buffet, especially the sticky buns, puts everyone in the spirit of the season."

Vance's show airs on Blue Ridge Communications at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays on Channel 8. Comcast Cable subscribers can view the program on Local Video on Demand (Get Local). Finally, York Community Access airs the program at 9 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month on Channel 16.

Vance's district includes all of Cumberland County and Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
