October 11, 2006 - Sen. Pat Vance meets with students from Boiling Springs High School's Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Club

at Pennsylvanians Against Underage Drinking's sixth annual Youth Rally Day in Harrisburg. She addressed the rally and spoke about the importance of stopping underage drinking.

Hampden Township opened its new Recreation Department office in August 2006

at 5001 Park Street Extended near the township pool. Helping to cut the ribbon to open the office are, from left, Bruce Yerger, vice president of Buchart Horn/BASCO; Sen. Pat Vance; Nevin W. Funk, recreation department commissioner; and Melvyn C. Finkelstein, president of the township board of commissioners.

Sen. Pat Vance and Rep. Will Gabig march in the Newville Memorial Day parade. After the parade

they participated in the Randall D. Shughart Post Office Building Dedication Ceremony. Shughart was killed during the Battle of Mogadishu in October 1993 while saving the life of a Blackhawk helicopter pilot.

Michael Woods of Mechanicsburg received a $7,000 scholarship during the 2006 Farm Show as part of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation.

West Shore Advanced Life Support Services Inc. celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2005.

Sen. Patricia Vance helped mark the event by presenting the organization with a Senate citation commemorating the anniversary.

In late 2005 Highmark opened a data center in West Hanover Township. The center allow Highmark to electronically connect more than 100 hospitals,

more than 40,000 health care providers, process 500,000 claims and responds to 33,000 customer inquires each day. The facility was built to withstand several weather conditions. Cutting the ribbon to officially open the center are, from left, Vance; U.S. Rep. Tim Holden; and Dr. Kenneth R. Melani, Highmark CEO and President.

In October Senator Patricia Vance spoke to participants in one of 21 Alzheimer's Association Memory Walks hosted by the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter.

The walk is the association's national signature event to help those battling Alzheimer's disease. Helping to cut the ribbon to begin the walk in Harrisburg were, from left, Ted Janeczek, treasurer of the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter Board of Directors; Patty Fahnestock from Beverly Blue Ridge, Harrisburg; Alicia Richards of WHTM ABC 27; and Vance.

to help residents fill out Pennsylvania Property Tax or Rent Rebate Program forms. The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program gives seniors citizens up to a $500 rebate on their property tax or rent paid in the prior year. from the Pennsylvania Commission for Women for inspiring hope and possibility across the Commonwealth. The award was part of the 2005 Women’s History Month Celebration. to unveil legislation she worked on with Sen. Jeffrey Piccola to require a study by the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee before any state mental hospital can be closed. The study would examine and make recommendations on such things as current waiting lists for services and adequacy and availability of community and residential services.
