August 7, 2009 - Riley Hebbard of Mechanicsburg has been
collecting toys for children in Darfur, Sudan, since early 2009 after seeing
a story about a refugee camp on the Today Show. Sen. Pat Vance joined Riley
to mark the first shipment of 3,500 toys. For more information on the

Sen. Pat Vance recently visited Ski Roundtop in Warrington
Township as part of her monthly cable television show. She is pictured
participating in The Vertical Trek, a descent more than 600 vertical feet using
a series of zip lines, rappelling, rope bridges, Tarzan swings, cargo nets and
scenic walks. The show will air during the month of August.

At Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill recently Gov. Ed Rendell signed Sen. Pat
Vance’s (seated on left) legislation reauthorizing the Pennsylvania Health Care
Cost Containment Council (PHC4) until 2014. PHC4 collects data from hospitals,
freestanding ambulatory surgery centers and some managed care plans, and
provides it to consumers in a comparative format so they may make educated
decisions on the purchase of their health care.

June 22, 2009 - The Camp Hill Baseball Team won the 2009 PIAA Class A
Championship. This was the team's second consecutive title. Sen. Pat Vance,
front row center, honored the players and coaches on the Senate floor for its
back-to-back state titles.

Sen. Pat Vance cuts the ribbon to open the Adventure Zone Playground in
Mechanicsburg on May 30. The playground is accessible to all children,
regardless of their ability. It is the only facility of its kind in Cumberland
County. |

A groundbreaking ceremony recently was held at Willlow Mill Park to mark the
begin of the renovation of Huston Mill. The mill dates to 1885 and is in need of
extensive repairs. Joining in the groundbreaking are, from left, Sen. Pat Vance;

Students at Bible Baptist School in Shiremanstown recently
thanked Aetna, Bravo Foundation and Sen. Pat Vance for $20,000 in donations
for scholarships from Aetna and Enterprise Rent-A-Car through the
Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). The EITC program allows
businesses to provide donations for educational scholarships in exchange for

This spring Mechanicsburg Area High School held its first varsity lacrosse
season as a recognized PIAA sport. The team acknowledged Sen. Pat Vance before

of Uplifting Athletes in Camp Hill. This nonprofit organization works with
college football players to raise rare diseases as a national priority through

Sen. Pat Vance introduced Brigadier General Randall R.
Marchi of Mechanicsburg to the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency
Preparedness Committee during a hearing on nominations. Marchi was nominated
to become a Major General in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. She also
introduced Col. Walter T. Lord of Mechanicsburg, seated behind second from
left, for nomination to the rank of Brigadier General of the Pennsylvania
Army National Guard. Both nominations were reported unanimously from full
committee.
